Corpus Delicti

Location: Nice, France

Active: 1992 – 1998

Formed in Nice, France in 1992 by Sébastien Pietrapiana, Franck Amendola, Christophe Baudrion and Laurence ‘Roma’ Romanini. Their debut album ‘Twilight’ was released in 1993 followed by ‘Sylphes’ in 1994.

corpus delicti (noun) • cor·pus de·lic·ti [ˈkȯr-pəs-di-ˈlik-ˌtī  -(ˌ)tē] • 1the substantial and fundamental fact necessary to prove the commission of a crime • 2the material substance (such as the body of the victim of a murder) upon which a crime has been committed

In 1998, they changed the name to simply Corpus, but this did not last and they disbanded. In 2006, Sébastien formed Press Gang Metropol with Franck and Chrys (Baudrion).

Corpus Delicti has reformed in 2020 and has embarked on several touring engagements and a new album ‘Liminal’ was released in 2025.

Not to be confused with the 1980s postpunk Corpus Delicti from California of the same name.
