Punk band from Austin, Texas started in 1979. The core members Randy “Biscuit” Turner, Tim Kerr and Chris Gates, on vocals, guitar and bass respectively. Their five drummers over the years included Rey Washam who would go on to play in Scratch Acid and Ministry. Their style incorporates elements from various genres and they helped to popularize the skatepunk sound.
Their first album was a split live album with fellow Texas band The Dicks, ‘Live at Raul’s Club’ in 1980, followed by ‘Where’s My Towel / Industry Standard’ that same year. Their album ‘Lullabies To Help The Brain Grow’ is a masterpiece that contains songs that showcase their versatility like ‘Manipulation’. The song can be heard in the 1985 horror film ‘Future Kill’, filmed in Texas.
Tim Kerr and Chris Gates went on to Poison 13, Gates was also involved with Skatenigs.
